Subtly Straighten Your Smile With Invisalign In Orange, CA

Invisalign, Orange, California

Eight million satisfied patients can't be wrong! Invisalign is the answer for everyone who wonders whether they can straighten their teeth without it looking too obvious. Metal braces and even ceramic braces can be readily apparent in someone's mouth. Invisalign, however, is a series of clear plastic aligners that blend in with your teeth and conceal the fact that you're correcting your smile. They're the original "invisible braces." With Invisalign, there's no need to feel insecure about your smile in the workplace or at school. It'll be our secret.

If you're suffering from crooked teeth and want to improve your smile -- as well as your confidence -- then Invisalign is for you. Give us a call at (657) 888-9011 to discuss how we can get you started on this marvel of cosmetic dentistry.

The Secret Benefits To Secret Braces

There's more to these clear aligners than you may think

You may be surprised to know that being next to invisible is but one of many benefits of Invisalign. In fact, some dentists believe that the clear appearance of Invisalign is its least important factor! Here are a few more positive features of these clear braces: First and foremost, Invisalign will help you correct your bite. This is the primary function of orthodontics, and Invisalign is no exception. It helps with conditions like TMJ and TMD, clicking and popping, and ineffective and painful chewing. By the end of your Invisalign journey, you should have a perfect bite that causes you no pain. There are overall health benefits to developing a proper bite as well. For instance, you will get more nutrition out of the foods you eat, as the mouth is responsible for the earliest stage of food digestion. Because crooked teeth are often connected to a crooked bone supporting it, aligners like Invisalign help in correcting the bone architecture supporting the teeth. Good gum and tooth health are dependent on good bone architecture, so this is key. On top of that, Invisalign can help relax and outright fix pain in the face, jaw, and neck. Another benefit of Invisalign is that the straighter your teeth become, the less likely it is you'll be affected by food impaction. This occurs when misaligned teeth capture food that becomes

difficult to brush off or floss out. The more time is spent correcting a crooked smile, the less chance there is for food to be caught in a no-man's-land. A perhaps unexpected benefit of Invisalign is that, once all is said and done, your speech and pronunciation may be highly improved. Many patients in the field of entertainment say that Invisalign has helped them enhance their vocal qualities. Correcting your teeth helps in eliminating speech problems like a lisp, for instance. You may be pleased to know that correcting your teeth with Invisalign makes your regular dental cleaning and exam easier to perform. Straighter teeth are more prone to self-cleaning, and they're easier for the hygienist to clean as well. On the other hand, teeth that are crooked or crowded are trickier to clean, and sometimes bacteria may be missed. Finally, while appliances like ceramic braces are best avoided by those who regularly play rough sports, Invisalign works as an effective mouthguard. If you suffer from bruxism (grinding of teeth), Invisalign is worn at night, so it helps to prevent grinding of teeth. As you can see, Invisalign's subtle, clear appearance is just the tip of the iceberg as far as the benefits it offers. Invisalign Vs. Braces

The two orthodontic choices clash

You may be wanting to straighten your teeth, but wonder which option is better: traditional braces or Invisalign. The fact is, both methods of teeth correction have their pros and cons. Let's have a closer look at what the two have to offer: First, the similarities. Invisalign costs roughly the same as traditional braces. The cost of either service is usually based on the length of treatment required and how involved it will be. And as far as treatment length goes, both services can take the same range of time. It really varies based on your own individual situation and how much realignment your teeth require. Both regular braces and Invisalign likely require the use of a retainer afterward.

Now on to Invisalign. Invisalign consists of clear, removable trays made of flexible plastic -- and some tooth-colored attachments, in some cases. Invisalign is almost impossible to detect from afar, and even up close! With Invisalign, as long as you remove your trays beforehand and brush and floss afterward, you're free to eat and drink anything you want. If you don't brush before reaffixing the trays, though, you increase the risk of cavities. Too, the Invisalign trays must be thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis. There's also the matter of keeping them on for 20 to 22 hours a day. If the patient is lacking in discipline, it is very easy for them to avoid wearing the aligners, thereby allowing their teeth to shift back

into their misaligned positions. Braces, of course, are much more obvious than Invisalign. They can be metal or the less obvious ceramic, though both options are more visible in one's mouth than Invisalign. One advantage of traditional braces is that they are cleaned simply by brushing and flossing as you normally would. They don't need to be (and can't be) popped out to clean regularly. Because they're much harder to remove -- and shouldn't be removed by the patient -- they always keep the patient's teeth straight, unlike Invisalign, which can be removed on the patient's whim. In the end, both services achieve the same purpose: making your smile perfect. As far as aesthetics, comfort, and flexibility go, however, Invisalign is the better choice.

  • Is there pain involved with Invisalign?

As is the case with orthodontics in general, you may feel some discomfort as your teeth begin to shift into their proper places. This is especially true when you switch to a new tray in the series. However, patients state that the discomfort is not as bad as that from traditional metal braces. With time, all pain will fade away, and you'll get used to it.

  • How much does Invisalign cost?

The price of Invisalign depends on the length of treatment required. Simply put, if it takes longer, it will cost more. We offer a free consultation and exam so that we can determine just how long your treatment will take. Give us a call at your convenience, and our staff will be happy to set it up!

  • Invisalign before and after: what can I expect?

Before Invisalign, you may be suffering from crooked, crowded, or gapped teeth. The main objective of the Invisalign process is to correct your smile so that your teeth are correctly aligned. By the end of the process, your teeth should be in perfect alignment.

  • How long do I have to wear Invisalign each day?

It is recommended that you wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day. When you remove your aligners, your teeth will want to shift back into their original positions, which is why it is best to wear Invisalign as much as possible. The more you comply, the faster your teeth will be corrected!

  • Do I require an orthodontist to use Invisalign?

Not necessarily. Invisalign can be done by an orthodontist, but as long as they're trained in the Invisalign system, a general dentist may do it as well.

  • Can you drink coffee or tea while wearing Invisalign?

Drinking coffee or tea while wearing Invisalign will stain the trays. The best way to proceed is to remove your aligner tray first and brush after drinking. That way, you can enjoy any type of beverage without damaging the trays.

  • How long does Invisalign take?

It can take anywhere from six months to over two years to complete the Invisalign process, depending on the condition of your teeth. Of course, one misaligned tooth won't take as long to fix as several crowded teeth.

  • Does Invisalign work on severely crowded teeth?

While earlier versions of Invisalign may have only worked on minor corrections, the system has expanded to include a wider range of problems, including severely crowded teeth. Not only can Invisalign handle it, but some patients report that it works faster than traditional braces!

  • Do any celebrities use Invisalign?

A good number of celebrities have used Invisalign, including Tom Cruise, Justin Bieber, Katherine Heigl, and Khloe Kardashian.
