The Power Of Invisalign
Correct your smile... and do it undetected
The clear and subtle alternative to metal braces, Invisalign only grows in popularity with each passing year. It's no wonder why. With an easy to use series of flexible plastic aligners and the ability to eat whenever you want, Invisalign oozes with appeal. You may be wondering whether you're a good candidate for Invisalign if you have numerous crowded teeth or gapped teeth. Doesn't Invisalign only fix minor problems? Nope! Over the years, Invisalign has gotten better at solving more complex problems, and can now tackle the majority of what traditional braces can handle. Let's get down to
some of the advantages of Invisalign. As mentioned before, you can eat anything. Because you don't have to worry about food particles being stuck in wires or brackets, you're free to eat whatever you want, whenever you want -- provided, of course, that you remove your aligners and then brush and floss afterward. Another advantage of Invisalign is that it functions like a mouthguard. If you have problems with grinding your teeth at night, wearing Invisalign will be a huge help. While playing rough sports is not advised with certain types of braces that can easily break, it's absolutely fine with Invisalign.
Aesthetics are only the tip of the iceberg, though; because Invisalign's primary function is to straighten your teeth and perfect your bite, it helps out with your overall oral health as well. You will find brushing and flossing to be gradually easier as your teeth shift into proper position. Your hygienist will find it easier to clean your teeth, too! As your teeth straighten, you will also find that food is less likely to get trapped in between your teeth, which will improve your overall oral health. If you need your teeth straightened, come and see what eight million patients have already discovered, and unlock the power of Invisalign!

The Magic Of Dental Implants
Revolutionize your mouth with an implant
Maybe your smile is perfect except for that one missing tooth that you've never addressed. Or maybe you have a few missing teeth in various areas. Whatever the case, perhaps it's time to consider dental implants to fill those gaps and polish your overall appearance. But what happens during a dental implant? Read on! First, you'll come in for a consultation with us so that we can discuss the ins and outs of the process with you. Then, we'll have to determine whether your jawbone is strong enough to handle the procedure. If not, bone is taken from another place in your body and used to strengthen your jawbone. Sometimes, bone substitute material is used instead of actual bone. Now for the implant itself. Here, a small cut is made to open the gums and reveal the bone. Holes are drilled into
the bone, and a metal frame or post is placed deep inside. It now takes some time to heal. The jawbone will gradually connect to the surface of the dental implant, which creates a sturdy base for your artificial tooth. It can take several months to reach this point. Once the jawbone has fully healed, your gum is opened again to reveal the implant, and an abutment is attached. Then the surrounding gum tissue is closed around it. Next, impressions are made of your mouth, which are used to make your artificial tooth. The tooth is screwed or cemented on an abutment, or it is similar to a denture. Because many patients are worried about pain accompanying this procedure, we offer a variety of anesthetic options so that you're as comfortable as possible through it all. You may even find the process to be relaxing!

How do veneers and Lumineers differ?
Lumineers are certain types of porcelain veneers that are thinner than regular veneers. It is cheaper and quicker to apply, but doesn't last as long as normal veneers.
-
How do you treat a receding gum line?
The process is called open flap scaling and root planing, and involves folding back the gum tissue and removing bacteria from the pockets. Then, the gum tissue is secured back in place.
-
How do you handle excess gum tissue?
A common way to deal with excess gum tissue is crown lengthening, which involves sculpting the gum line to expose more of the crown. Gum contouring can sometimes assist with this as well.
-
How does gum contouring work?
To begin the process, we numb the gum area with local anesthesia. Then we use a soft tissue laser (or scalpel) to remove extra gum tissue, resculpting your gum line to reveal more of the tooth.
-
Does gum contouring hurt?
Before the gum contouring procedure, you'll be given local anesthesia to numb the gums. You'll feel little to no discomfort, but of course, it depends on how much of your gums need to be reshaped. You may also experience some tenderness after the procedure.
-
What are veneers?
Veneers are thin coatings meant to cover the front surface of teeth and enhance your smile. The coatings are bonded to the front of the teeth in order to change their shape, size, color, or length.
-
Do any famous people use veneers?
Many Hollywood celebrities use veneers, including Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Ben Affleck, and Catherine Zeta-Jones, to name just a few!
-
How long do veneers last?
The durability of veneers varies based on a number of factors. On average, however, they last about five to ten years.
-
What are some benefits of dental implants?
Getting dental implants doesn't require shaving down other teeth like a bridge does. Because neighboring teeth aren't changed to suit the implant, more of your own teeth will remain intact, improving your overall oral health.
